Goldenvale sits on the eastern shore of Glowmere Lake, about three hours north of the Twin Cities, a little east of Highway 371. The lake is deep and cold and freezes hard enough for ice fishing most winters. The downtown is four blocks of brick along the creek, the schools are close enough that most kids bike, and the fries at the Griddle & Grind are, we maintain, the best in three counties.
This site is kept up by the Town Office with help from volunteers. If something on it is wrong or out of date, stop by and tell us — we would rather hear it from you than from the Facebook group.
Notices
- The swim dock and ropes are in at the Public Beach. Please keep bicycles off the dock.
- The boat launch is open. Day passes at Harbor Light Marina; season passes at the Town Office.
- Town Council meets the second Tuesday of the month, 7:00 p.m., Town Hall. The public is welcome and there is usually coffee.
- Reminder from Public Works: brush pickup is the first Monday of the month. Bundles under four feet, please.

The Year in Goldenvale
- Goldenvale Lake Days (July) — parade down Main, food booths, the fishing derby, the cardboard-boat race, fireworks over the lake.
- Winter Ice Carnival (February) — skating oval, hockey, snow sculptures, and the polar plunge, which we do not recommend but will not stop.
- Fall Harvest Weekend (October) — parking-lot market, bake sales, the small carnival, and the haunted trail in Riverside Park.
The rails came through in 1893 and the town grew up around them. The trains are gone now, but the story is a good one — the whole thing, including the part underground, is on the About Goldenvale page.
