The short version of everything the town does, and where to go for it. For anything not listed here, the Town Hall counter is the right place to start — if it is not our department, we know whose it is.
Town Hall
S Main Street, downtown, in the brick building with the flag. Open weekdays 8:00 to 4:30. Town Council meets the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. — agendas are posted on the board by the door the Friday before.
Utility billing questions are handled at the counter. Online bill payment is not available. The counter takes checks.
Goldenvale Public Library
Downtown on S Main, two doors up from the Griddle & Grind. Open Monday through Thursday 10 to 7, Friday and Saturday 10 to 5, closed Sundays. Summer reading program every year; the sign-up fills fast and Mrs. at the desk will tell you exactly how fast.
Parks & Recreation
- Public Beach & Dock — downtown lakefront. Swim ropes in season. No lifeguard; swim with a buddy.
- Riverside Park — playgrounds, trails, and footbridges on both sides of the creek.
- The rail-trail — paved, flat, and follows the old rail corridor across town.
- Boat launch — east shore, by the lakeside lot. Day passes at Harbor Light Marina.
- Goldenvale Rec Center — in the EastGate complex. Open gym hours posted at the desk.
Public Works
Snow: a snow emergency is declared when three inches falls, and cars must be off posted routes until plowing is done. You will know because the whole town knows. Brush pickup is the first Monday of the month. Spring hydrant flushing is announced in the Dispatch — if your water runs cloudy for an afternoon, that is why.
Schools
Goldenvale Elementary, Goldenvale Middle School, and Goldenvale High. The middle and high schools are about a mile and a half apart, which several teachers drive daily and the track team runs on purpose.
