Heritage Day projects on display in the school gym

Mr. Aune’s social studies classes have filled the middle school gym with this spring’s Heritage Day projects, and the town is invited Thursday evening to walk through. This year’s crop covers the logging camps, the 1893 rail line, the power station, and one very thorough display about the fishing derby that includes a taxidermied walleye on loan.

Mr. Harold Thompson attended as he does every year, and stayed until the last student had walked him through their board. Families with old photographs or letters from the town’s early days are encouraged to lend them to next spring’s classes — the school takes good care of them.
